Definitions

On this site "esure" and "we" mean: the members of the esure group of companies; in relation to Pet Insurance Thornside, a division of BDML Connect Limited (part of Capita Plc.), AXA Insurance UK plc ; and in relation to Travel Insurance FirstAssist Insurance Services Limited. "You" and "my" mean the user of this site.

The information on this site is directed at residents of England, Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Man only. The services described in this site are available to private individuals for their use only. You are not permitted to use this site or to copy any material from the site for any commercial purpose. You must ensure that the details you give to us while using this site are correct.

However, in relation to insurance products, we won't change the terms and conditions that apply to your policy during the term of your policy, and we'll tell you before you renew your policy if any of the policy terms and conditions have changed.

Quotations and Premiums

The quotations provided on this site are intended as an indication only of the likely premium based on the information you provide. They're not binding quotations. If you decide you want to buy an esure policy, then we'll ask you to confirm the information you've provided. If you fail to disclose any relevant information, or provide any inaccurate information, this may invalidate your insurance policy. If you provide us with information about other people, then it is your responsibility to check that the information you provide is accurate and that the other people have given you permission to give their information to us. New policyholders are entitled to a discount off the normal premium when they buy online. This discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts.

When you complete the Payment Details section of the site, we'll treat this as your proposal of insurance. You're not insured until you receive confirmation from us that we've accepted your payment and proposal. The decision whether to offer you insurance from esure is at our discretion. When you take out motor, home and pet insurance with esure we'll post you your schedule, policy booklet and, for motor insurance, your Certificate of Insurance. You should keep a copy of all information submitted to and/or received from us for your own records. If you take out a travel insurance policy, your documents will be available electronically.
Jurisdiction

If you live in England or Wales, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction to adjudicate on any dispute between us. If you live in Scotland, the courts of Scotland will have exclusive jurisdiction to adjudicate on any dispute between us.

2. Compensation arrangements

esure Services Limited, esure Insurance Limited, AXA Insurance Plc, Brit Insurance Limited, UK Insurance Limited, DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company, and Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK) Plc are all covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

In the unlikely event that any firm providing insurance goes out of business or into liquidation, you may be entitled to compensation from the scheme. Generally the FSCS may arrange to transfer a policy to another insurer, provide a new policy or, if these actions are not possible, provide compensation.
