Drivers should try to avoid fellow motorists named Clark after a survey by car insurance firm elephant.co.uk found people with that surname were the most likely to make an accident claim.
A poll which examined the number of crashes among popular names found that Allen and Lewis were the next most accident-prone surnames.
Motorists with the surname Clark were 10% more likely to have made a claim than other drivers while people called Roberts were the least likely to have been in an accident at a 15% rate.
Other names high on the accident claims list included Green, Watson and Stewart while motorists called Hall, Davies and Hill all featured on the rundown of least-accident prone surnames.
A company spokesman said: "Although the survey is a bit of fun, there are obvious differences in the accident rates of some surnames compared with others."
