Corsa tops best-selling cars table

The Vauxhall Corsa and Astra are among the most popular second-hand cars in the UK, figures have revealed.

The models, featuring in credit reference agency Experian's table of second-hand sales, came first and third respectively, swapping places from 2009's result.

The Ford Fiesta held firm in second place, with the Focus and Mondeo coming in fourth and and seventh.

The ever-popular Volkswagen Golf hung on to its mid-table position, coming fifth.

Mark Nuttall, Experian's automotive business general manager, said: "As our analysis shows, affordable smaller vehicles have managed to appeal again to motorists, with the Corsa overtaking all the other cars to become the nation's favourite used car."

The best-selling cars of 2009, with 2008 positions in brackets, were:
