Curtain keeps things under wraps

Women tired of exposing their modesty when arriving at the theatre or other high-class event may want to take advantage of a new in-car protector.

Insurance firm Sheilas' Wheels has joined forces with design experts Gusto to develop the Exi-quette Car Curtain.

The Exi-quette - a combination of exit and etiquette - was created after research showed that nearly two thirds of women had complained of revealing more than they wished when exiting a car.

It is hoped previously exposed celebrities such as Britney Spears or Paris Hilton will celebrate the arrival of the Exi-quette Car Curtain and save the public any more unnecessary blushes.

Of those women surveyed, more than a fifth (22%) admitted they did not know how to step out of the driving seat with their dignity intact.

Sheilas' Wheels believe there is clear demand for such an innovation after the poll showed 44% of female motorists would be interested in a gadget that could put an end to future “flashing” incidents.

Jacky Brown at Sheilas' Wheels car insurance said: "We appreciate that today's fashion-conscious women want to look good at all times and be able to wear their micro-minis and little black dresses when they're out and about and behind the wheel.

“This new prototype will help all 'Sheilas' avoid the embarrassment of a freak gust of wind or badly negotiated moves when getting out of a car.”
