Singer Pete Doherty will appear in court later this month accused of allowing his manager to drive his car without insurance.
Andrew Boyd, 42, was behind the wheel of a Daimler - alleged to belong to Doherty - when he was in collision with Chris Corder in Hadleigh, Suffolk, last September.
Corder remains in a coma after suffering serious injuries in the collision, his family said.
Doherty, 30, has been summonsed to court for allegedly permitting the use of a vehicle without insurance, a Suffolk Police spokeswoman said.
The case will be heard at Lowestoft Magistrates' Court later this month as Boyd is sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court.
Boyd, of north London, earlier admitted charges of dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, driving without reasonable consideration, driving with no insurance, failing to report an accident and driving without a licence.
