A driver who deliberately crashed his double decker bus to win insurance payouts has received a six-month suspended sentence.
Luqmahn Danial, 28, drove the 182 bus into the back of his friend's car in Brent Cross, north-west London, Harrow Crown Court heard. He ignored passengers waiting at bus stops and picked up six accomplices before hitting the back of the Seat Toledo driven by his friend Imran Hussain as he travelled through Harrow. Danial, Hussain and a third man, Mohamad Tabibi, earlier admitted fraud.
Danial, of Bessborough Road, Harrow, and Hussain, 29, of Nibthwaite Road, Harrow, were handed suspended six-month prison terms at Harrow Crown Court, the Metropolitan Police said.
Tabibi, 26, of Rayners Lane, Harrow, who was a passenger in the Seat, was also handed a suspended six-month prison term.
