A motorist has been caught driving with her bonnet wide open and entirely covering her windscreen.
Dorset Police were working on the No Excuse campaign to educate bad drivers and cut injuries and deaths on the road when they spotted the 53-year-old woman peering above the narrow gap to see where she was going.
During the day of action on March 10 in Weymouth, officers recorded 30 offences which could have caused serious collisions.
One driver was caught steering with his elbows while he rolled a cigarette, another driver was reading from a clipboard across the steering wheel and six drivers were using mobile phones.
A further 10 drivers were caught speeding, nine passengers were not wearing seatbelts and were given fixed penalty notices, and one driver failed to stop for a pedestrian at a crossing.
One man driving a Ferrari was stopped after he overtook police in an unmarked car at 80mph in a 50mph zone near Slepe.
