Police find GMTV host's stolen Jag

TV presenter Andrew Castle's car insurance provider will be breathing a sigh of relief after his luxury car was found by police after being stolen.

The GMTV host said he wasn't expecting to see his prized £40,000 Jaguar XF again after it went missing from outside his home in Balham, south London, in the early hours of January 6.

But the vehicle was found abandoned and undamaged in Waters Square, Norbiton, south-west London, by an eagle-eyed community support officer on January 21.

Inquiries are under way to trace the thief, who police believe may have used a low-loader or towed the car away because the keys were not taken.

Mr Castle, 46, said: "I was a bit shocked by the phone call from police as I never expected the car would be found. I was quickly told it'd been found and hadn't been damaged at all. My day just got brighter."

PCSO Graham Brown, who found the car, said he realised straight away the vehicle was out of place and further checks revealed it was stolen.

Sergeant Andrew Rice, of the Norbiton Safer Neighbourhood team, said detectives were following up several leads about the identities of the culprits.
