White Van Man has been bumped off the top of the worst driver table by Range Rover owners, according to a poll of cyclists.
A survey by 50cycles.com showed that all 4x4 drivers are a worry to all cyclists but those with Range Rovers are particularly feared for their tailgating behaviour.
Drivers of white vans were second in the poll - also singled out for their tendency to tailgate, which can in many cases lead to accidents and car insurance claims.
Third were BMW drivers, described as "smug" with a tendency to weave in and out of traffic. Elderly people were fourth, being seen by cyclists as "too slow" and not paying attention.
Four in five of the 2,000 cyclists surveyed said they felt vulnerable and in danger when riding on the road, with 68% often resorting to riding on pavements to avoid bad drivers.
Nearly half (48%) worried most about navigating roundabouts, while the other main concerns were blind bends and the approach to junctions.
Scott Snaith, spokesman at www.50cycles.com, said: "Our customers are now reporting a definite reduction of road traffic on the roads and a gradual increase of electric cycles.
The startling figures in this poll should gradually improve as the roads become less crowded and motorist become more aware of all cyclists."
