Police sent a driver two speeding tickets after a speed camera recorded his parked car breaking the 30mph limit, it has emerged.
Jeff Buck was sent the tickets after officers failed to notice his car was stationary outside his Nottingham home as another moving vehicle set off the camera's trigger.
The 55-year-old parks in front of the camera on Watnall Road because he doesn't have a garage or a drive.
Nottinghamshire Police apologised to Mr Buck after he successfully contested the fines by querying the alleged speeding offence.
Police claimed that his Vauxhall Zafira was snapped doing 37mph along Watnall Road on December 13.
He told the Nottingham Evening Post: "I assumed the first time it happened that the police would put something in place to prevent it from happening again.
"I'm concerned now that every time someone triggers the camera I'll get these notices. I am amused by it, but also angry that I have to go to the trouble of contacting the police."
A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said staff were being given guidance about the importance of verifying images properly.
