Three jailed for luxury car thefts

Three men found guilty of stealing luxury cars, including a Mercedes and a BMW, have been handed jail terms.

The trio from Birmingham stole vehicles worth around £350,000 from their owners' driveways and struck in seven counties in one month.

In March, Aaron Brazier, 24, Stephen Bowley, 32, and Matthew Humphreys, 27, stole cars from areas including Burton-on-Trent, Branston, Northampton, Sutton Coldfield, Evesham, Banbury, Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Kenilworth.

The gang was held in May after a co-ordinated regional crackdown on organised crime.

At Stafford Crown Court earlier this month, Brazier admitted to seven burglaries, 10 thefts and one count of handling stolen goods, and asked for 14 other burglaries to be taken into account.

Bowley and Humphreys each pleaded guilty to three burglaries and four thefts. Humphreys also pleaded guilty to two counts of handling stolen goods.

Brazier was given a five-year jail term, while Bowley and Humphreys each received sentences of three years and four months.
