Brake's Kids Walk 2021 sponsored by esure
Across the UK on Wednesday 16th June school children aged 4 to 11 will join together in supervised walks to raise awareness and promote the importance of road safety in their communities.
Every day in Britain there are six children killed or seriously hurt on the roads.
This is where Brake comes in.
Brake is a road safety charity working with communities and organisations across the UK to stop the tragedy of road deaths and injuries. Their aim is to make the roads safer for everyone, and to support those affected by road crashes.
One of the ways they do this is with Brake’s Kids Walk.
Registering to take part gives you access to resources created specifically for the event, including:
- Lesson plans
- Assemblies
- Activities
- and posters featuring Shaun the Sheep
Schools can sign up for free. Once registered they can join forces with Brake and Shaun the Sheep to help raise awareness amongst their students, parents and community, about how best to protect children on the roads.
Want to participate? You can let your children’s school (or community group) know about the campaign and point them to the Brake website to register and find out more information.
