We're excited to launch our poster design competition to raise awareness of Brake's Kids Walk and to get children thinking about the importance of safe, healthy journeys to school.

Children aged 4–7 and 8–11 can take part by designing their very own road safety poster, with a prize for each age group.

Their design could encourage drivers to slow down, promote greener ways to travel, highlight the importance of safe road crossings – or anything else that supports every child’s right to safer and healthier journeys to school.

It’s easy to enter and all of the details you’ll need are below – good luck!

How to enter

Off

Children aged 4–7 and 8–11 on 22nd June 2025 are invited to design, draw and colour in a road safety poster, using pens, pencils, crayons, paint or a computer / tablet, to get creative and make their design stand out! We'll be looking out for the most eye-catching, creative and colourful designs.

A parent or guardian must email a photo of the poster to [email protected] quoting ‘Road Safety Competition’ in the subject line. Acceptable file formats are PDF, JPG and PNG, and max file size is 20MB.
The email must tell us the full name of the entrant and their age on the date the competition closes, 22nd June 2025.

Eligibility

The competition is being run by esure Group and promoted across both esure and Sheilas’ Wheels brands, but is open to anyone across the United Kingdom. Poster designs are welcome from children who are aged 4-11 on the date the competition closes, 22nd June 2025.

The Prizes

The poster design competition is split into two age groups: 4-7 and 8-11. We’ll be selecting one winner from each age group to receive a £250 Halfords voucher, making sure they’re all set to buy a new bike and accessories (don’t forget a helmet!) or something else of the winner’s choice.

Closing date

Closing date: 23:59 on Sunday 22nd June 2025.

What will happen to the winning poster?

The image of the winning posters will be displayed in esure Group offices and on our internal company communication channels, as well as being shared on the esure Group, esure and Sheilas’ Wheels websites; on social media (Facebook and LinkedIn), and in emails to our customers. Brake, the Road Safety Charity, may also share the winning poster designs on their website and on social media. The winners’ first name and age will be included in these.

At esure, we're passionate about helping people feel safe. That's why we've proudly partnered with Brake, the UK's leading road safety charity, to support safer journeys for everyone.

Every day, six children are killed or seriously hurt on Britain's roads. Through our partnership with Brake, we're sponsoring Brake's Kids Walk to help address this issue and make a positive impact.

We have sponsored Brake's Kids Walk since 2021, which includes thousands of children, aged 4-11 years old taking part to learn important road safety messages and shout for their right to make safe and healthy journeys. In 2024, more than 79,000 children took part in this great event.
