The A-class also comes with a range of attractive safety features, including fatigue detection, blind spot monitors and a self-parking feature. Current models in production feature engine sizes ranging from 1.5-litre to 2.1-litre, and the available trims put the A-class in insurance groups ranging from 9–45. Of course, having a higher trim level or more powerful engine may increase your Mercedes car insurance quote.

Please be aware this is a guide only, insurers may group these cars differently.

A range of add-ons and trim levels are available giving you access to features like a glass panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, and keyless entry. Remember that this can drive up the cost of car insurance for a Mercedes-Benz.

Can I reduce the quote for my Mercedes-Benz?

Getting insurance for your Mercedes-Benz vehicle can be a costly business. But fret not, as there a lot of different ways you can reduce the amount you pay for your Mercedes-Benz car insurance:.

  • Pay your insurance in full for the year – by paying off the full amount in one go you avoid paying interest on monthly payments
  • Increase your excess – by voluntarily increasing your excess, your insurance quote could be reduced. But you would need to have enough money to pay the excess, if you make a claim. So only do this if you know you will have the money to cover it

Would esure insure my Mercedes-Benz if I were to take it to Europe?

We do offer European car insurance if you wanted to take your Mercedes-Benz to Europe. If you just use your certificate of insurance as proof you’ll be covered at most to a third party only level. But for an additional fee you can match your protection to what you have in the UK. To find the full list of European countries we cover, please visit our European car cover page.

About Mercedes-Benz

Early Beginnings

The Company traces its roots back to Karl Benz’s first petrol-powered car, the Benz Patent Motorwagon, which was patented in 1886 in Germany. The first Mercedes automobile was marketed locally in 1901 by Daimler Motors Corporation.

The trademark for the brand was created by Austrian entrepreneur Emil Jellinek, who named the 1901 Mercedes Jellinek–and so Mercedes-Benz was born. In 1926, the first Mercedes-Benz brand name vehicles were produced.

First Car

The first Mercedes-Benz brand vehicle debuted at the ‘Nice Race Week’ in France, generating a lot of excitement and buzz during the event. The car stood out from the rest with its lightweight feel, and is considered to be the first in modern automobiles. The release of the 35 HP Mercedes was the end of carriages and signalled a new era for automobiles.

Present Day

Currently Mercedes-Benz is known worldwide for producing luxury cars and other vehicles, like lorries, coaches and buses. The brand continues to uphold innovation as part of its key ethos.
