Jaguar XF Insurance Groups

The XF is an upmarket, modern saloon made by Jaguar to replace its famous S-Type. The XF was first released in 2007 and since then has seen several redesigns, including a version made for the Police force.

The XF is available with automatic and manual transmission, and if purchased new it can be upgraded to four-wheel drive. While the latest versions of the XF have a 3.0-litre engine, some previously produced models have 5.0-litre engines. This engine size, along with some of the more hi-tech features in the XF, put it in higher insurance groups.

Jaguar X-TYPE Insurance Groups

The X-Type is a compact executive car that is available in estate and saloon versions. Designed to be an entry-level luxury car, it delivers some of Jaguar’s trademark traditional aesthetics.

While the X-Type was discontinued in 2010, it’s still available on the used market. The X-Type range includes engines that range from 2.0-litre to 3.0-litre sizes. It’s worth noting that the engine size you choose, along with any cosmetic features like opting for metallic paint, could put the X-Type into higher insurance groups.

The Jaguar XE is an executive saloon, boasting lightweight construction, comfortable handling and fuel-efficient performance. It comes equipped with a number of technologies that make driving easy and enjoyable. One such example is Drive Control, which enables you to choose between different handling settings for various situations. The XE also comes with the All Surface Progress Control system, which maximises traction across different surfaces. Jaguar has also included its large-screened InControl multimedia player in the XE.

The XE comes with a choice of diesel and petrol engines, and is only available with automatic transmission. Engine sizes range from 2.0-litre to 3.0-litre, and together with the advanced technologies and features on board, this puts the XE in higher insurance groups. Jaguar S-Type Insurance Groups

The Jaguar S-Type is an executive saloon with four doors, which was released while Jaguar was owned by Ford. The range boasts retro looks and luxurious interior features, along with a powerful engine. The 2002 S-Type 4.2 Supercharged V8, at the time of its release, was faster than any other road production saloon car in the world.

The S-Type range includes models with manual or automatic transmission. While the range is no longer in production, it can be found on the used market. It’s available with petrol or diesel engines ranging from 2.5-litre to 4.8-litre in size. The engine size, along with the hard-to-replace features in the car, put it in higher insurance groups. If you’re considering buying an S-Type, be aware that the insurance group may affect your Jaguar car insurance quote.

Designed to handle challenging driving situations, the F-Pace normally operates in rear-wheel drive mode, but sends 50% of its power to the front wheels when the car is struggling for grip. It features Jaguar’s InControl Pro multimedia system, which has a large touch screen for easy operation.

The F-Pace is available with 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel and petrol engines, and 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel and petrol engines. It can be purchased with either automatic or manual transmission. The engine sizes, along with the technologies and luxurious features in the F-Pace, put it in higher insurance groups. Can I reduce the quote for my Jaguar?

Because of the specifications of the cars, Jaguar car insurance can be quite expensive. However, there are a few things you can do to reduce the cost of your insurance.

  • Keep your car in a garage or driveway – this makes your car less susceptible to being stolen or accidental damage.
  • Pay your full year’s insurance up front–as you don’t have to pay interest, the total cost is lower than if you pay in instalments.
  • Increase your excess–if you volunteer to increase your excess, your overall insurance costs may be reduced. However, you need to be sure you can pay for the excess if you make a claim.

Would esure insure my Jaguar if I were to take it to Europe?

We do offer European car insurance if you wanted to take your Jaguar to Europe. If you just use your certificate of insurance as proof you’ll be covered at most to a third party only level. But for an additional fee you can match your protection to what you have in the UK. To find the full list of European countries we cover, please visit our European car cover page.

About Jaguar

The history of Jaguar

Jaguar released a breakthrough model called the XK120 in 1948, which was the fastest serial automobile in the world. In the 50s it began to get involved in motorsports, and in the 60s began to offer its cars to the US market, starting with the XK150 and XK150 Roadster. During the 60s and 70s it would develop its most iconic cars, the Jaguar E-Type and Jaguar XJ series.

Jaguar in the modern car era

Towards the end of the 20th Century, Jaguar was bought by Ford, and it entered the new millennium with two new models: The F-Type and X-Type. It was bought again by Indian company Tata Motors in 2008, and saw growth in North America, Russia and China. Jaguar’s recent models, such as the XF and X-Type, have attempted to move away from its more traditional designs. Jaguar currently has over 10,000 employees and is headquartered in Whitley, England.
