Using your smartphone, SureSnap guides you step-by-step through the photos and videos we need. It shows you exactly what to capture and how, helping us get a clear, accurate view of the damage.

This means less back-and-forth and unnecessary effort – just clear and simple guidance when you need it most, to get you back on the road quicker*.

What is SureSnap?

SureSnap, powered by IVI, is a photo-guided claims tool that helps you submit the information we need to assess your vehicle. Once you've started your claim*, we'll send a secure link to your mobile phone. Simply follow the step-by-step instructions and take the requested photos using your device's camera.

You'll be asked to provide images of: 

  • The damage you're claiming for 
  • Each side and corner of your vehicle 
  • Your mileage 
  • Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) 
  • Any other relevant information, such as the accident scene 

*A mobile number is required. Not available for flood, fire or vandalism claims.

How SureSnap works:

  1. Start Your Claim: Begin your claim online or over the phone. 
  2. Receive Your Secure Link: We'll send a text message to your mobile device containing a link to SureSnap. 
  3. Follow the On-Screen Instructions: The tool guides you through each photo required, one step at a time. 
  4. Submit Your Images: Once you've uploaded everything, our claims team can begin assessing the information you've provided.

Tips for taking great photos

Not selfies. We've seen enough of Dave. To help us assess your vehicle as quickly and accurately as possible:

Mileage & VIN 

  • Take a clear photo of your mileage and zoom in so the reading is easy to see. 
  • Capture the full VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), which is usually 17 digits long. 
  • You'll typically find the VIN at the bottom corner of the passenger-side windscreen. 

Damage Photos 

  • Take close-up photos of any damage to show the detail. 
  • Step back at least five paces and take wider shots to show the damage in context.
  • If it's safe to do so, complete a full 360° walkaround of the vehicle. 

Follow the Prompts 

  • SureSnap will tell you exactly what photos are required. 
  • Simply follow the on-screen instructions, and we'll have everything we need to get things moving.

Staying safe while taking photos

Your safety is more important than getting the best shots. Before you start snapping:

  • Stay aware: Watch out for sharp edges, broken glass, and damaged vehicle parts when getting closer to the damage. 
  • Pick a good spot: Make sure your vehicle is in a safe, accessible location where you can move around it comfortably. 
  • Make the most of the light: Natural daylight usually produces the clearest photos. If it's dark, consider waiting until conditions improve if it's safe to do so. 
  • Give your camera a helping hand: A quick wipe of your camera lens can make a big difference to image quality. 
  • Check your battery: Make sure your phone has enough charge to complete the photo capture process.

If it's not safe to take photos immediately after an incident, don't worry. Wait until you're somewhere safe before using SureSnap.
